With 40 years in the industry, there is not a lot Peter Coney doesn’t know about construction. The former CEO of a large, ASX listed project management consultancy, Peter brings a high level of expertise that’s renowned in the industry. It’s seen him provide strategic project and development management advice to large institutional clients throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
What can a former professional triathlete bring to the world of project management?
Quite a lot. Projects are like ultra marathons. There are different skills required, a lot of hard work and a deep passion for the process. Well if you swam two kilometres, cycled for 180 then ran a marathon, you’d want to love it too.
With more than 15 years in the industry, Rob has seen project management from both sides of the fence. He’s worked as a builder as well as a development manager, a task that involved strategy, master planning, feasibility – the works, all from the word go on a project.
Don Morris AO BEc DUniv Griff is the former Chair of both Tourism Australia and Tourism Queensland, and a former director of leading public tourism entities Harvey World Travel, the Tourism & Transport Forum, Port Douglas Reef Resorts, Tourism Asset Holdings and Hamilton Island Enterprises.
Andrew has over 20 years of experience in the consulting and the construction Industry and has an extensive knowledge of managing projects, building services, and sustainability design.
For Adam, one of the founders of Pure Projects, a project manager is like the conductor of an orchestra. Rather than a flute player, or bass drummer, they’re up the front, guiding the team to make great music.

Country Manager, Malaysia
It says something about Richard that his favourite Pure Project wasn’t the biggest or most exclusive (although as ‘employee number 3’ on the Marina Bay Sands project in Singapore, it does hold a special place), it was the one that “tested the core of my character the most”.
